When you choose HTC to build your tennis court, you can be sure that your court will be constructed to your complete satisfaction. CHOOSING A COURT SURFACEThe two most frequently selected surfaces are All-Weather and Fast Drying. Hard courts (also referred to as All-Weather courts) are often chosen because the cost of maintaining them is low. Typically asphalt based, these so-called "hard" courts may be softened with the application of surface cushioning, making play easier on the knees. Fast-drying courts consist of natural crushed green stone, finely screened and blended with a chemical binder and installed over a base of stone and screenings. They provide a naturally cushioned surface. Their surface temperature is cooler than asphalt-based courts, and the ball bounces slightly slower on them, Though these courts require regular maintenance, the beauty of them is that they're play-able after a rainfall much sooner than most other courts because of the high concentration of water that passes through them. We will be happy to provide you with all the information and guidance you'll need to choose the court surface that best suits your needs. MAINTENENCEMany tennis courts require regular routine maintenance. Among these are Fast-Drying, Loam and Clay tennis courts. The maintenance required includes brushing and watering on a daily basis and rolling a minimum of once weekly. Brushing smooths the court surface and redistributes the surface granules over entire court. Brushing should be done before the court is watered. Regular watering is very important. Water is the element that holds the court surface material together. Normally, a Fast-Drying court should be watered once a day, preferably in the early morning hours. In extremely hot, dry weather, a second watering may be necessary. Rolling provides compaction of the court surface. For a harder and faster bounce, the court should be rolled frequently. Conversely, for a softer surface and a slower bounce, roll it less frequently. Maintenance — on either a daily or weekly basis — is one of our HTC's specialties, and a service in which we take great pride.
